A strong community grows through shared

experiences and mutual support. Supporting Families Through Transition and Change

Brighton College Dubai students celebrate their achievements, a reminder that recognising every child’s success is central to the College’s values of kindness and care.

Guiding Families in a Digital World In an increasingly digital world, guiding families towards healthy and responsible technology use is essential. Digital safety is addressed through lessons, regular newsletter features and targeted guidance for parents. We share information about online trends that may affect pupil wellbeing, helping families feel equipped to have thoughtful, informed conversations at home. Our approach to EdTech and AI is values led, encouraging balance, responsibility and curiosity rather than dependency. Technology should support curiosity Living Our Values in the Wider Community As a school rooted in the UAE, we are proud to align our work with national priorities around family cohesion, wellbeing and community impact. By placing families at the heart of school life and living our values of confidence, curiosity and kindness every day, we aim to make a positive contribution well beyond the classroom. Initiatives such as our Make a Difference days and the Brighton College Cares programme give pupils the opportunity to put these values into action, through preparing care bags for workers and raising funds to support those less fortunate, both here in the UAE and across the globe. Ultimately, our view is simple: when families and schools work together with trust and purpose, children flourish. When families and schools work together with trust and purpose, children flourish. and learning, not replace it.

Supporting families through change and transition is another priority. Induction days for new families help pupils and parents feel prepared and welcomed, while structured buddy systems support pupils at key transition points. Families are encouraged to visit the school through tours and transition events, helping them feel confident and informed. Wellbeing sits at the heart of this work. Our College counsellor supports pupils and families through individual guidance, Coffee with the Counsellor sessions alongside a range of workshops focused on wellbeing, inclusion and revision skills. Arabic lessons for families also offer opportunities to deepen cultural understanding and connection. Wellbeing and belonging guide every stage of the school journey.
