A t Brighton College Dubai, we know that children thrive when school and home work closely together. Families are not simply supporting learning from the sidelines, they are true partners in it. As part of the UAE’s Year of the Family, this feels an important moment to reflect on the everyday actions, shared values and deliberate choices that bring our community together and ensure pupils feel confident, cared for and encouraged to be curious, both at home and at school. Families are not on the sidelines of learning. They are partners in it. Communication That Builds Trust and Connection Strong leadership is key to building meaningful relationships with families. We place real importance on communication that is open, consistent and honest, so that families feel informed, listened to and genuinely involved in the life of the
College. This is not about volume, but about clarity and trust. Our weekly Whole College Newsletter, alongside class letters in the Prep School and a weekly academic update in the Senior School, keep families closely connected to learning, pastoral care and wider school life. These communications celebrate achievement, share guidance and help families feel confident in supporting their children. Relationships are strengthened through regular opportunities to come together in person. Events such as Run for a Reason and Book Swaps, alongside parent workshops and Tea with the College Leadership Team, create space for conversation, connection and shared purpose. Equally important are the daily relationships between class teachers, form tutors and pupils, which ensure every child feels known, supported and confident.
