EdUAE - Issue 28 - Schools Out Issue 2026

Educational travel 197

In 2023, Matt travelled to Costa Rica to study farming. The next idea came quickly. THE IMPACT PANEL Real Change. Real Lives.

What if KAPES could work with schools, use unused land, and grow food for the students who needed it most? A year later, that vision became real. The first harvest produced four tonnes of onions, which will be exchanged for roughly fourteen thousand meals. The tractor had become part of the mission. Different roads. Same destination. Making a difference.

THE VISION AHEAD Building A Better Future

Matt has spent seven years building KAPES quietly. Now, he believes the story matters as much as the work. He is ready to speak more openly about purpose, education, and the barriers that still keep children out of school. For schools, families and students in the UAE, the message is clear. A decision made here can become a uniform, a meal, and a moment of dignity somewhere else.
