120 educational travel

D ecember 2025, Kapes Uniforms led a group of twenty-three students from the British International School of Jeddah on an eight-day educational expedition to Kenya. This journey was meticulously designed to blend environmental conservation with community impact and personal development. The itinerary immersed the students in rural Kenyan life while providing significant physical and creative challenges. The journey began with a departure from Jeddah and a swift transfer to the Tsavo region upon arrival. From the moment the group began their first drive through the landscape, the students found themselves captivated by the surroundings. Giraffes, elephants and zebras appeared almost instantly, which set an inspiring tone for the wildlife experiences to come. The initial evening safari exceeded all expectations because the group witnessed multiple lion sightings, including a mother with her cubs. They also observed large herds of elephants crossing the plains and cheetahs moving with incredible speed. For many of the students, this represented their first encounter with wildlife in a natural habitat, and the impact of the experience was both immediate and profound. "The trip immersed students in rural Kenya while challenging them physically, emotionally and creatively." Resilience on the Hills and Respect for the Wild Day three served to deepen the connection between the students and the natural world. Following a morning safari in Tsavo East National Park, the group embarked on a demanding hike in the Maungu Hills. This trek covered approximately five kilometres and involved an ascent of around 850 metres. It was a rigorous test of resilience, teamwork and determination. Every student eventually reached the summit through mutual encouragement and grit. At the peak, local guides shared their indigenous knowledge by demonstrating traditional fire-making techniques.
