70 Excellence in Schools
T he launch marked the dawn of a bold new chapter. Four Houses - Nova, Terra, Orion, and Aether - each with their own colours, mottos, and missions, now form the living architecture of a school determined to empower every student to belong, challenge, and achieve together. Where Leadership Meets Belonging In an age when young people are searching for connection as much as direction, BC Academy’s Houses offer both. They are more than teams; they are tribes of purpose - micro-communities where every student has a place, a voice, and a reason to rise. Principal Zara Harrington captured the spirit perfectly at the launch ceremony: 'We’re not simply organising students into Houses; we’re igniting a culture of shared leadership- one where every idea, every kindness, every act of courage builds our community stronger.' That sentiment is woven through every House. Each embodies a distinctive style of leadership - creative, responsible, innovative, or compassionate - yet all share the same heartbeat: unity.
Nova - The Spark of Creation Bathed in electric blue, Nova House radiates imagination. Its emblem, a brilliant starburst, symbolises the light of ideas that can change the world. Nova’s motto, 'Ignite Ideas. Illuminate the Future,' reflects a community where curiosity fuels action. Here, students are storytellers, designers, and thinkers who believe innovation begins with empathy. Through filmmaking, digital art, and design thinking, they give shape to ideas that inspire others to dream. Nova teaches that creativity is not an escape from reality—it’s a way to transform it. Terra - Growing Boldly, Leading Wisely With its leaf-green identity and symbol of a sprouting seed, Terra House champions growth in all its forms. Its mantra, 'Grow Boldly. Lead Responsibly,' reminds students that true leadership is rooted in care - for the planet, for people, and for progress. Terra students explore sustainability and social enterprise, turning classroom learning into community action.
