50 Excellence in Schools
Gemma Thornley, Principal
Arbor has been awarded the World’s Best School Prize for Environmental Action 2025, standing out among 10 shortlisted schools worldwide.
Real-World Learning, Real Impact This academic year, students are connecting their classroom learning to global issues through partnerships that put purpose into practice. A new collaboration with Sparklo, a UAE cleantech pioneer, enables Arbor students to take part in on-campus recycling that rewards positive environmental behaviour – a first for a UAE school.
Beyond campus, field trips to lakes, waterworks and conservation expeditions immerse students in real-world problem- solving, deepening their understanding of ecology, culture and systems thinking. “Experiences like these make learning tangible,” Thornley notes. “They build empathy and perspective - and that’s where real development happens.”
