The UAE’s Global Design Footprint Founded in Dubai in 2017, Kidzink and Koda have expanded to offices in Saudi Arabia, Spain, Singapore and India. Together, they employ more than 400 professionals and have delivered over 1,000 projects globally. Their design, manufacturing and consulting services are integrated under one roof, offering clients everything from bespoke furniture and fit-outs to full architectural solutions. This international momentum was recently recognised when Kidzink received three ICONIC AWARDS in Munich for its innovative UAE-manufactured school furniture. The firm also opened its new Singapore office in 2025, reinforcing its role as a bridge between the Gulf and Southeast Asia’s education markets. “We believe the industry needs a call to rethink educational spaces.” Charlotte Borghesi Bringing Neuroscience to the Classroom Ana Mombiedro, Director of Applied Research at Kidzink, describes Beyond the Box as a long-awaited link between science and school design.

The book made its regional debut at GESS Dubai’s EdInvest conference, where Mombiedro delivered a keynote titled How Neuroscience-Based Design is Transforming Learning, Investment and Human Potential. The presentation revealed the hidden return on investment that comes from intelligent school design — improved learning outcomes, reduced behavioural issues and enhanced teacher wellbeing.

Presented at GESS Dubai 2025, Beyond the Box sets a new global benchmark for research-driven education design.

“For the first time, designers, architects and education leaders have a book that translates decades of brain research into a practical way to design learning environments,” she explains. “It shows why space matters, how it shapes learning and wellbeing, and how neuroscience can be applied systematically rather than intuitively.”
